In 1998 Emil Stoyanov was the deputy head of the Bulgarian National Television. In 2001 he created the first news channel in Bulgaria, television station 'Europe'. He became its chairman of the board of directors. In 2009 Emil Stoyanov was elected as a Member of the European Parliament from the party GERB, member of the European People Party.
